Matalili

 Matalili or Tia lili =( Wall hanging craft)

This is an authentic cultural craft that is unique to the Niue culture.

Tia lili is made out of natural fibers of pandanus leaves and coconut mid rib stalks.

These Matalili are weaved by my fuluola (beautiful) tupuna fifine (Nana) using coconut mid rib stalks , Ribbon or Raffia to add colour and patterns.

Lockdown

In lockdown my family and I were playing tag in the front yard, everyone was having fun. After we played tag, me and my sister had to keep with our fitness so our dad made us run up to the stop sign at the end of our street and back to our yard 7 times, we were pretty tired and exhausted from the run. After our fitness routine, we went back inside the house and enjoyed eachothers company.

Weaving with ms Whaea Hei

 Weaving with ms Whaea hei

On Friday room 2 was weaving with ms whaea hei.

ms whaea hei told us that we were making a ball.

we had to grab 2 flaxes and split them up

when we split the flaxes she then told us to put the flax under the other.

half of the class did not know what she meant.

ms whaea hei and the teacher had to go help some of the people that did not know what to do.

when they finished helping the other kids ms whaea hei then told us to put the flax under and over and the other over and under like platting your hair.

when we were done platting the flaxes  it started to turn into a ball,then we played with it outside.

 The museum

On Monday room 2 went to the museum.

when we got to the museum we had to go into a cafe and in the cafe Ms Haioti gave us food  cause the class wasn't allowed to eat around the objects in the museum.

when we finished eating, a man came inside the cafe to tell us the rules around the museum.

then he told us to put our bags away inside a cage,then we lined up in 2 and went to WWI.

when we went got there The Man was talking about what happen in WWI.

then we went to explore about what happen in WWII.

It was fun cause after that we went to the back of the museum the man showed us the things that the military wears and eats.

After that the man finished talking and we all got exited to explore around the museum but room 2 had to go into 3 groups which was with  Mr saa Ms Haioti and Ms Thomas. when we got into groups we went to the kids place ,volcanoes,WWI,WWII,And the dinosaurs.
